Discovering your reading talent is not magic neither does it have to come as a sign from the heavens or a heavenly vision. Some writers discover they have a flair for writing from an early age while most authors admit to having struggled with insecurities and doubts before making a decision to start writing and sharing their thoughts with the world. Here are three ways to spot a writing talent:
- You Lose Track of Time When You Read or Write : Do you get carried away when you write or when you read, do you lose track of time? This could be a sign that you have a writing talent or you have the flair for writing. Writers get immersed or engrossed when they discover a new book or article as this opens their mind to new experiences so if you experience this at any point of time, you have a talent in writing.
- You Have Good Communication Skills: Do you receive compliments from people on how well you talk to people? Do people tell you they feel at ease when they communicate with you ? Then you are off to a great writing adventure and you never can tell people around you can sometimes be the catalyst to your future writing career without even realizing it.
- Keep a Writing Diary: Whether you’re writing a novel, story, memoir, or poem, spend a few minutes after each writing session to write about your experience. By keeping track of your feelings and responses, you may get a clearer sense of what you are truly passionate about doing and what you’re merely competent at doing.
